I believe that each person is creative, resourceful, and whole, and already has within them what is needed for change. My role as a counselor is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where growth can unfold through a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship.
My approach to therapy is non-directive and client-centered, meeting clients where they are in their journey. I work with children, adolescents, and families to identify strengths, develop new skills, and navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, trauma, and relationship concerns. Meaningful change happens when clients feel seen, accepted, and supported.
When working with children, I enter their world through play. I incorporate creative and expressive interventions, such as play therapy, art activities, and sand tray, to help children explore emotions, build self-esteem, and strengthen their confidence. I value collaboration with caregivers and recognize that there is no single “right” way to parent. Caregivers are the experts on their children, and their involvement is an essential part of the therapeutic process.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Chico, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University. I was honored to be selected as a Military Spouse Scholar through the National Board for Certified Counselors and currently practice as a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor in Louisiana.
