I am dedicated to facilitating an environment where individuals can grow, adapt, heal, and ultimately progress toward meaningful goals. I truly find witnessing another individual’s growth throughout the therapeutic process to be an honor. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore their experiences. I recognize that each person’s journey is unique, and I approach counseling with empathy, authenticity, and respect for individual strengths and challenges. My goal is to collaborate with clients as they develop insight, build resilience, and create meaningful change that aligns with their values and aspirations.
In regard to play therapy, I strongly believe play therapy is incredibly powerful. Play meets children where they are and gives them a natural, developmentally appropriate way to express themselves. Many children do not yet have the words to communicate complex emotions, experiences, or challenges, but through play they can safely explore their feelings, process difficult situations, and build coping skills. Play therapy creates a trusting and supportive environment where children feel understood and empowered, allowing healing and growth to occur in a way that feels comfortable and meaningful to them. I believe in play therapy because I have seen how it honors a child’s unique voice, strengthens resilience, and helps children develop the confidence and emotional tools they need to thrive.
I graduate from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2023 with a B.S. in psychology and a minor human development and family science. I then pursued my M.S. of counseling, with a concentration in clinical mental health counseling, at Southeastern Louisiana University. Through my graduate program, I gained a wealth of knowledge and valuable hands-on experience in the field of play therapy. I had the opportunity to volunteer at and attend the 2025 Louisiana Association for Play Therapy conference. Additionally, I am a proud alumni member of the first student association for play therapy, which was established within my program. I completed an internship at a residential treatment facility for children and adolescents from January 2025 to May 2026. In this role, I collaborated with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to residents. My clinical work focused on delivering intensive therapeutic services to children and adolescents experiencing trauma, major life transitions, behavioral challenges, and difficulties with emotional regulation. I primarily utilized non-directive, play therapy interventions as I found that this approach is what appeared to make the therapeutic process not only more enjoyable, but more comfortable for the children.
I am a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor in Louisiana and a Nationally Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors.
