I would describe myself as kind, accepting, and supportive. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and families to help them reach their goals and strive for success. I take a non-directive approach with clients, which means letting them be in control and meeting them where they are. Through unconditional positive regard, children can learn coping skills, confidence, independence, and new strengths that can help them in their daily lives. I believe that every person has the capabilities to do amazing things and that each person’s true, authentic self is enough. I believe in promoting resilience in families and helping them learn that they can withstand and bounce back from hard times. I believe in the powers of play, and that play is a child’s most natural form of communication. When utilizing creative approaches in counseling, children can feel empowered to direct their approach and learn to be their true, authentic selves. I promote an accepting environment in the playroom where children feel safe and heard.
I hope that by being a kind, accepting, safe, and supportive person, children will begin to know their “superpowers,” learn that they have value, and they are capable of reaching their hopes and dreams. In 2021, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Delta State University in Mississippi. In 2023, I began my counseling internship at a clinic in Leland, Mississippi.
